Tonight, Jen and I celebrated our four year anniversary by going out to the Angus Barn. We had to put off our night out from the 31st because of work and such, but we finally had some time this weekend. We went a little early because of the hockey game later in the night, and ended up missing all of the crowd. At our table we had some homemade crackers and cheese. A little odd, but they were really good for crackers. We started our meal with an appetizer of barbecue ribs. Their sauce was perfect and the meat just fell off the bone. Maybe one day we will try a real order of them. We then had the soup of the day, which was sweet potato. We went ahead an tried it as neither one of us really like sweet potatoes, but we figured it might be ok. It was not. Two sips and both of us were done.
For our meals, I had the rib eye with a peppercorn rub, and Jen had the New York strip. Mine was unbelievable, and the peppercorn was a little strong, but still very tasty. The meat itself was very tender, my knife seemed to just melt through it. I had one bite of Jen's before she gobbled it up, but from that one bite it was freaking awesome. Because we were celebrating our anniversary they gave us a pretty big cake when we were done, but we ended up splitting a chocolate cheesecake instead and took the cake home with us. It was a great evening, I just wish it was a little cheaper so we could go back a little more often. Thanksgiving is the next time we are going for their unbelievable buffet. I am going to have to start fasting for it now... 6:43 PM | Comments [0]
